This is both a short story and the introduction of a novel I've completed that I'm actually quite proud of. I was hoping to get this short published in Star Wars Insider, and I may yet if they ever get around to responding to my letter of inquiry. Though I suppose it kind of defeats the purpose of posting a potentially commercial work for free, I figured posting it might actually get it some attention from the wrong right people.
Depending on what the response is I might be forced to take this down. Since this is a work intended for commercial publication, I don't consider it fan fiction.
