Part 1 of Takers! has gone through the editing wash and is looking a little cleaner than before. Other parts will be edited. Part 4 is in the works, so stay tuned for that.

Takers part 2
Here's the second part of the short story series I was working on last year. All of these are in dire need of editing, so please forgive the occasional grievous assaults on the English language and punctuation that may occur from time to time.

Silhouette (full E-novel)
This is the first full length novel I've ever written. Originally I'd planned on selling this one (and I may yet) but for now I'm going to add it for free while it's in a fairly unedited state.
I developed the initial idea for this story back in 2011. I'd wanted to do a techno-thriller for some time but was struggling with ideas. I eventually settled on the idea of creating a story around a corporation who utilized brainwashed employees to conduct corporate espionage and assassinations.
I'm a big fan of the grossly underutilized and still often maligned female protagonist role. This story is very much an acknowledgement of that. As a writer, I tend to prefer female leads simply because they are far more interesting to write about. Male leads far too often fall into stereotypes and cliches, and there is always the risk of 'over masculating' characters, to the point of alienating an audience. By their nature, women tend to make more interesting characters since it is a lot easier writing about a woman's emotional responses since they are generally very overt, versus male emotional responses which, by OUR nature, are often very covert.

Takers! Part 1
This is the first part to a story I'm especially fond of. I created Takers! in June of 2012 as an ode to my love affair of the 1980s and 90s. I wanted to create a sci-fi-rom-com short story series that took place in the 80s or 90s (it ended up being set in the mid 90s). One of the biggest inspirations for this story was Ranma 1/2 - easily one of my favorite comic/manga series of all time. I'd always loved the comedic and romantic elements, loved the dynamic between the characters and the high school setting. It had all the staples of a 1980s John Hughes classic, albeit in comic form. Also, as a John Hughes fan, I'd always wanted to do a Hughes-esque story. Takers! became just that and serves as an ode to Rumiko Takahashi of Ranma 1/2 fame and to John Hughes, both who loaned me quite a bit of inspiration.
I never got beyond the third part of this series, although I do still have a complete overview that details a total of nine parts. I hope to one day get back to this story. But for now, here's part 1 in all its mostly edited glory.

A working portfolio
Welcome to my new home for my non-commercial and non-official licensed works. I will be utilizing this space for what I classify as a 'working portfolio'; a place for prospective employers to view some of my works, as well as a place where I can post stories for the enjoyment of the general public. For those who recognize me from Deviantart, this place will be solely for my written works. I might add the occasional cover image, but that'll be about the extent of it.
In addition to the stories I will post here, I will also use this space for discussion. Mostly for writing sake, and maybe even some interviews which I hope to conduct in the near future with other writers both amateur and professional as a means of highlighting my journalistic abilities, while also getting some commentary on the storytelling process.
Anyway, I hope you take the time to look through some of the content that will be posted here in the very near future, and please feel free to offer any constructive commentary you wish.
Cheers
